ITALIAN OPERA POSTERS
Italian Opera Posters is a personal project in which I tried to explore the capabilities of Generative AI (such as Midjourney and Adobe Firefly) combined with traditional creative techniques. The objective was to study the degree to which it is possible to maintain precise creative control while using AI image generation.
Four Italian operas were selected for this project: Giuseppe Verdi's Trovatore, Vincenzo Bellini's Puritani, Gaetano Donizzetti's Lucia di Lamermoor, and Gioachino Rossini's Semiramide. Using Midjourney and Adobe Firefly, a poster featuring a key scene from each of these four operas was made.
Each poster is composed of 15-20 separate AI-generated images that were upscaled, modified and combined using Adobe Photoshop. Additionally, posters feature a quote from the depicted scene, as well as the portrait of the composer.
