Claudia Pasquero, the curator of the 2017 Tallinn Architecture Biennale and a founding member of ecoLogic studio, has approached me to create a series of videos showcasing BioTallinn, the theme of the exhibition.
bioTallinn challenges typical assumptions of what constitutes the boundary between natural and artificial realms. It declares that ecosystems are the product of an accumulation of catastrophic events, that give origin to new dynamic equilibria. bioTallinn presents a radical revision of the contemporary Urbansphere by suggesting novel terms for its coevolution with the Biosphere.
Part of the project was to create a teaser video for the Vision Competition, an open call for architectural proposals at the intersection of architecture, computation and biology to re-define the Paljassaare Peninsula as a new urban prototype for the city of Tallinn.
The work included editing, animating and post producing raw footage created on site and extracted from technical simulations by the architects working on the exhibition.
