Stays ON/A Campaign
STAYS is an accessory brand founded by Anastasia Kozlova. It uses recycled or leftover textiles from the faсtories to reduce overproduction of materials. I was tasked with conceptualizing, filming, editing and post producing the series of videos celebrating the launch of the ON/A bag.
Each bag by STAYS is made and assembled by hand. Brand's pillars are conscious consumption, high quality and maverick design. The first model of the upcoming collection, ON/A is a padded polyester bag with stainless steel accessories and handle made from vegan leather.
The primary inspiration for the videos was the beauty, vibrance and diversity of flowers, drawing parallels with the striking palette of colorways that ON/A is available in. With that in mind, the starting point of the production was filming the closeup shots of various live flowers, where each flower would be associated with one of the ON/A bag colors.
The bags would appear to have been born from within the flowers, therefore an animation sequence of the bag emerging from the flower petals had to be created.
To achieve this, the flowers, then carefully arranged flower petals would be placed in many layers in front of the camera and animated live - while the bags footage was added in post production.
A series of short videos showcasing each bag were created in various formats, along with a custom soundtrack inspired by the visuals. Additionally, an intro sequence, a full length campaign video and a set of stills was prepared.
The campaign achieved striking and memorable visuals using only live footage, practical effects, chroma key and motion tracking. No CGI was used in the preparation of the material.
In 2021 the STAYS ON/A campaign was selected for Film and Premiere Pro curated collections on Behance.
