Future Visions
Future Visions is the updated version of my Bachelor's thesis I presented at Politecnico di Milano University in 2017. It is a comprehensive overview of the greatest futuristic science fiction films of the XX Century, looking at the imaginary future as it was seen through the popular culture, and how the cinematic vision of the future changed as the genre developed.
As my passion for science fiction, design and popular culture developed, I decided to publish Future Visions as a standalone book, expanding on the research and adding the sketches showcasing the milestone films, made by me. It is available now via all the major online retailers in digital and paperback formats. Future Visions was added to The Science Fiction and Fantasy Research Database of Texas A&M University Library in 2021.
The book was built around the timeline - separating the science fiction cinema history in different periods, grouping movies by theme and seeing how real world events and technology advancements affected the course of how the genre develops.
